THE ART OF METAL SPINNING
A Step-By-Step Guide to Hand-Spinning
by Paul G. Wiley
ISBN 0-9752900-0-2

I wrote this book with the craftsman/artisan in mind who wants to give small diameter spinning a try. The 72 page book is 8-1/2" x 11" and spiral bound, making it easy to lay flat on your workbench. It has over 150 B&W photos and is easy to follow. Topics include; safety issues, metals used in spinning, tools and equipment setups, and how to make maple chucks and followers. Step-by-step projects include spinning a small aluminum bowl in three different heights, spheres, bezels, straight-sided spinnings and trumpeted shapes, and a chapter on making a large post lantern top in three different sections. In the last chapter I introduce hollow spinning and spinning on air. I didn't leave anything out when I wrote this book; every trick I know for spinning basic shapes is all in these pages.
